Overview

Created for Kylie Jenner’s children, Aire and Webster, this large-scale birthday experience transformed a sound stage into a stylized retro fantasy town featuring a diner, gas station, skate shop, amusement attractions, and interactive environments.

FINAL CONCEPT RENDER — RETRO DINER

The visual direction pulled heavily from vintage Americana, 1950s roadside architecture, and dreamy desert landscapes, all reimagined through a playful pink color palette and oversized cinematic set pieces.

FINAL CONCEPT RENDER — STORMI’S SKATE SHOP

Design Direction

The environments were designed to feel nostalgic, theatrical, and slightly surreal — combining glowing neon signage, retro forms, checkerboard graphics, chrome accents, and pastel tones throughout the space.

FINISHED INSTALLATION — STORMI’S SKATE SHOP

The diner featured exaggerated mid-century geometry with wraparound neon lighting and classic counter seating, while the skate shop and gas station introduced playful roadside details inspired by old desert pit stops and Americana signage. Large scenic rock backdrops, palm trees, inflatable clouds, and glowing star curtains helped complete the dreamlike atmosphere.

Despite the playful aesthetic, the project required extensive technical coordination due to the compressed production timeline and the scale of the installation.

ON-SITE INSTALLATION — RETRO DINER

Execution

My role focused on translating Frame Creative’s conceptual renders and SketchUp models into fabrication-ready builds. I developed technical dimensions, material direction, graphics, vector artwork for neon fabrication, and assisted with scenic detailing across multiple structures.

BUILD PACKET — GAS STATION ELEVATION

I also designed a custom retro gas pump prop including the form development and graphic layout for the pricing display elements. Due to the accelerated schedule, I additionally assisted with on-site installation and assembly during final production.

PROP FABRICATION — CUSTOM GAS PUMP

This project became one of my favorite builds to work on because of its cinematic retro aesthetic and the challenge of rapidly turning ambitious concepts into fully realized physical environments.
