The Deck is a residential outdoor renovation developed for a real estate investor converting a fixer-upper property into a short-term rental destination. The project focused on replacing an aging, underutilized deck with a multi-purpose outdoor living environment designed to increase guest appeal, functionality, and overall property value.

Working from existing site conditions, the design reimagines the backyard as a series of interconnected gathering spaces. The elevated deck incorporates an outdoor dining area, casual lounge seating, a dedicated hot tub zone, and a custom swing bench that serves as both a visual centerpiece and a relaxing retreat. Changes in elevation help define individual program areas while maintaining an open and connected flow throughout the space.

Beyond aesthetics, the project was developed with buildability in mind. Material selections, structural layouts, and dimensional requirements were carefully coordinated to create a realistic construction-ready concept that could be handed off to contractors for pricing and implementation. Photorealistic visualizations allowed the client to evaluate the design prior to construction while providing a clear roadmap for execution.
