Overview
Created as part of a promotional collaboration between MrBeast and Starbucks, these custom-built invitation cases were designed for a new season of Beast Games. The concept centered around sending five influencers a locked sci-fi styled case that could only be opened by solving a physical Japanese-inspired puzzle mechanism hidden within the build.

Inside, the case revealed a custom steel invitation card granting access to the exclusive event experience.

Design Direction
With an extremely tight production timeline, the challenge became finding a fast and believable way to create a cinematic sci-fi prop without fabricating an entirely custom enclosure from scratch. The solution was using Pelican-style hard cases as the foundation — leveraging their industrial detailing, rugged geometry, and functional hardware as a starting point for the aesthetic.

Additional handles, latches, graphics, and layered detailing were incorporated to push the cases further into a futuristic military-tech direction inspired by sci-fi films, game props, and collectible equipment crates. The metallic steel finish became central to the final look, allowing reflections and surface texture to enhance the dimensionality of the graphics while maintaining a believable utilitarian feel.

Execution
My role focused on sourcing and developing the physical language of the cases, accurately modeling all added components in 3D, and ensuring every handle, latch, and hardware element functioned properly together at real-world scale. I also designed the custom graphics package, drawing inspiration from cinematic prop design, gaming interfaces, warning labels, and industrial shipping typography.
The final graphics were produced as die-cut vinyl decals and applied after painting and assembly. Beyond the digital design process, I also assisted hands-on with fabrication and finishing — including hardware installation, spray finishing, decal application, and final assembly of the completed invitation kits.
