Overview

Black Girl Sunscreen partnered with our team to explore two connected experiential environments: a beachfront product activation and a branded content backdrop within their Van Nuys headquarters. Both spaces were designed to reflect the company’s elevated approach to skincare while creating visually memorable moments centered around product interaction and social engagement.

The beach activation focused on creating an eye-catching public sunscreen station, while the office installation transformed a corner of the workspace into a flexible environment for live sessions, promotional content, and product showcases.

Design Direction

The beach installation drew inspiration from festival hydration and lotion stations commonly found at large outdoor events, reimagined through a more sculptural and luxury-oriented lens.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW — KIOSK DIMENSIONS

The final form landed somewhere between a cosmetic case and a monolithic gold object — designed to immediately communicate elevated skincare while remaining approachable and interactive.

KIOSK PERSPECTIVE — CONCEPT RENDER

The structure was intentionally symmetrical, allowing guests to engage with the product from all four sides through integrated mirrors, branded graphics, and recessed lotion dispensers. A satin gold finish became central to the visual identity of the piece, creating strong reflections and contrast against the bright coastal setting.

For the office environment, the direction shifted toward a softer architectural language inspired by clay-textured interiors, integrated shelving, and lush greenery. Illuminated product pedestals and recessed display niches were incorporated to create a clean backdrop adaptable for both casual social content and polished brand campaigns.
