Overview

Terraform is a speculative architectural short film set within the open prairie landscapes of South Dakota. Conceived as a reimagining of the traditional observation tower, the project transforms a singular destination into a cinematic journey through an inhabitable landscape.

DE SMET, SOUTH DAKOTA - AERIAL SITE PHOTOS

A winding trail guides visitors through a sequence of exhibitions, gathering spaces, and performance environments embedded directly within the terrain. Rather than separating architecture from nature, the project dissolves the boundary between the two, allowing the landscape itself to become the architecture.

AI-AIDED LANDSCAPE EXPLORATIONS

As visitors ascend, the experience unfolds as a narrative of discovery—revealing the ecological, cultural, and geological stories of the prairie through moments of exploration, reflection, and communal engagement. The destination is no longer a solitary platform suspended above the landscape, but an expansive overlook seamlessly integrated into the land itself.

REIMAGINED CONTEXT SATELLITE VIEW

Terraform imagines observation not as a single viewpoint, but as an immersive journey where movement, storytelling, and landscape converge into a new architectural experience.
